| These two adore each other. Minutes before the water came into our basement. |

| We got a little bit of water into our basement from the sprinklers. Happy Father's day to Joe. |
 |
| We rented this fan from Home Depot and it dried everything so much faster. |
 |
| Had to move our couches down the hall. |
It was about 2:00am on Father's day, Joe had fallen asleep with Jax downstairs and I was in bed when Joe came and woke me up and said we have a flooded basement. I was sick to my stomach immediately. We got towels and blankets and started to get as much water off the carpet and tile as possible. Luckily it went mostly into the middle of the room. We pulled the carpet up and had fans going immediately.
I had turned the sprinklers on and had been watering our lawn for a few weeks while Joe was gone and thank goodness nothing happened while Joe was gone. We have cut some sprinkler lines in preparation for a cement patio, I know that I didn't turn on that specific sprinkler. Well, I heard a loud pop and didn't think anything of it. That sprinkler that had been cut hadn't been sealed yet, and that is where all the water had come from. It is right by our back porch and ran down the stairs and the mat that is by the door covered the drain when it got wet and then clogged the drain. So the water ran right in..... Come to find out that if you turn our sprinkling system on the same time that the previous owners had it set for, it will run the full course in which it did the night I had turned them on. So.... I am basically saying it wasn't entirely my fault. A few days later it did the same thing, we heard the pop this time and paid attention to it this time just at the water started coming down the stairs. Thank heavens it didn't happen twice.
I am so glad it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Luckily no mold, and nothing got ruined. We just need to have someone come and stretch our carpet back.
I felt so awful that it happened at all, let alone that it was Father's Day. Joe was so nice and patient about it.
